Humility?

Moses stumbled into a land that was ruled by a Priest of Midian. His name was Reuel. Reuel, “Gave his daughter Zipporah (Zipoora) to Moses in marriage.” (Exodus 2:21)

Along with that marriage came the responsibility of keeping watch over a huge herd of sheep. Moses went from a prince in the palace to the lowly position of a mere shepherd. Moses was enrolled in Wilderness U so that he could be taught about the virtues of a humble lifestyle. If you are in a barren land today, is God trying to teach you the same?

MOSES NEEDED TO GET TO THE PLACE WHERE HE REALIZED THAT HIS STATUS AS A BLESSED PRINCE WAS ALL ABOUT GOD’S DIVINE FAVOR AND NOT ABOUT MOSES’ GOOD LOOKS AND OR HIS CHISELED PHYSIQUE.

CAN YOU SEE THIS MORNING THAT ALL YOU ARE AND ALL YOU HAVE COME FROM GOD’S PROVISION AND NOT FROM YOUR KEEN INTELLECT?

I love the humility of Mary!

In Luke 1:48, Mary mentions that God was aware of her, “…humble state…” In the portion of scripture known as Mary’s Song, Mary makes it very clear in verse 49 that, “…the Mighty One has done great things for me – Holy is His Name.” Mary is very careful to make sure that God gets all the glory in regard to her virgin pregnancy. Mary magnified God! We must be very careful to follow that same pattern and make sure that God is magnified in our lives – not us! God must receive all the glory for every achievement, every accolade and every pat on the back.

Folks! That is humility!
