God has promised to bless and strengthen the Christian during times of trouble.
James 1:3 comes right out and says it, “…the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” I have seen it in the lives of God’s people time and time again. The stronger the persecution grows, the stronger we grow. Isn’t it true, that the worse things become for us, the more we seem to prosper as God defines prosperity? Isn’t it true, that the greater our challenges grow, the greater our growth? In the midst of troubles, God will bless us and strengthen us if we seek Him first and refuse to waiver.
Do you know why? Because God was … and still is … in charge.
Folks, spiritual maturity cannot be attained without a few trials, tests and tough times! Let God say it again, “…the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
Could it be, that if you lack spiritual maturity, that lacking is due to the fact that you tend to run away from tests, trials and tough times instead of allowing God to use those times to grow you, prosper you and strengthen you? Folks, in our marriages, in our homes, on the job, in your Sunday School Class, in your relationships, around the family dinner table, spiritual maturity is the cure for what ails us. Spiritual maturity comes as our faith is tested so that we can develop perseverance.
God has promised it!
A rubber band is only useful after it has been stretched!
Spiritually speaking, there comes a time when all of us have to grow up. Today is the day to move farther away from milk and begin to gravitate toward the meat and taters!
