The Light!

Janine Brooks was a dental student. A man ran into her car and drove away.

Her damaged car resulted in a considerable financial burden, but the motorist never apologized or paid for the damage. Ten years later Janine Brooks, the former student, was now a dentist -- and guess who came into her office -- needing a tooth pulled.  He did not recognize her, but she recognized him. She told him that it would not hurt a bit. She lied. Folks, God does not pay back evil for evil. Stephen did not pay back evil or evil. We should not pay back evil for evil.

Acts 7:59-60 really seals the deal about Stephen’s grace filled life, “While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, ‘Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.’ Then he fell on his knees and cried out, ‘Lord, do not hold this sin against them.’ When he had said this, he fell asleep.”

Is it any wonder that Stephen was seen as a troublemaker? Is it any wonder that his guardian angels had their hands full?  Darkness does not like the light!
