Acts 6:8 says, “…Stephen, a man full of God’s grace…” Grace! Our God is a gracious God! Stephen was enjoying God’s favor and goodwill. Are you? Stephen was enjoying God’s kindness and love. Are you? Stephen was enjoying God’s forgiveness, charity and mercy. Are you? God had pardoned Stephen through the death and resurrection of Jesus! Can the same be said of you? Grace! We all want to receive it, but some are not good at giving it away! Most if not all of us have received favor, goodwill, kindness, love, forgiveness, charity and mercy from God. When we are full of such grace, should we not be graciously extending that same grace to others?
When one is full of something, that something spills out!
That was exactly the situation with Stephen. Luke wrote that He was full. The reason people knew that he was full is because he was in the habit of spilling out. The grace that he had received from God was being extended to others. Everyone within earshot was going to hear from Stephen that Jesus had grace for them as well.
