A statement that I read last week has literally mesmerized me. Here it is, “The Christian has given people just enough of Jesus to be bored, but not enough of Him to be transformed.” Church, I really do not want that statement to be true, but if it is true, could it be true because people who claim to have a vibrant relationship with God seem terribly bored? Here is what I know: Those who say that they are in a tight and growing relationship with God must produce an abundance of good fruit, so that those who are on the outside looking in will find an appetite for transformation.
Starting today, let us all go to a place where people can grow hungry for God and personal transformation because of the transformation that God has created in our lives.
As of today, let us all bore no more!
In that very first church, the people placed servant leaders out in front who were far from boring and the results speak for themselves. Look at Acts 6:7, “So, the word of God spread. The number of disciples … increased rapidly (not just increased, but increased rapidly) and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith (that is right … priests who once thought that Jesus was just a clown now saw Him as a catalyst).”
